Tae Bo Classes To Become Strong And Maintain Fitness

Billy Blanks is the guy who brought the no-nonsense, no excuses, straight forward, high-impact fitness routines to the world in the form of his Tae Bo classes. Billy created his unique Tae Bo workouts by bringing together his experience in the martial arts world and kick-boxing, and setting his routines to kick-butt music.

When he first hit upon this combination, almost 30 years ago, he excitedly called his wife to the basement to show her what he had developed, and soon he was teaching his first class in Tae Bo.

Billy started teaching live classes not long after he discovered how to put kick boxing punches and kicks and Tae Kwon Do movements to upbeat dance music. Even though Billy originally set out to refine his own workouts to make them more interesting, fun, and motivating, it was not long before this world-class athlete knew he needed to review his options and share this new Tae Bo cardio workout with others.

Tae Bo Classes And Tae Bo Videos

When Billy started developing the movements that would end up being the foundation of his Tae Bo classes and Tae Bo videos, he was already a seven-time World Karate Champion. Plus, Billy has earned a seventh-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and also has attained black belts in five other disciplines of martial arts.

He also served as the captain to the US Karate team which won 36 gold medals in international competitions and was the captain of the 1980 US Olympic Karate team. It should be no surprise to anyone that his name can be found in the Karate Hall of Fame, which he was inducted into in 1982.

Time, Effort And Patience

Perhaps the Billy Blanks Tae Bo classes would never have even come about if it weren't for the fact that, as an eleven year old boy, he was enrolled in his very first martial arts class. He almost dropped out of the class, not because of misbehavior, but because a hip problem impaired his ability to do the required movements. But with time and effort and the patience of his instructors, he soon discovered that the activity actually helped to correct the hip and joint anomaly that vexed him.

Over the years since Billy first brought his classes to the public, he has gained a large following of fans who have put the Tae Bo fitness routines to work for them. One of the things that continues to draw new fans, and keep his current fans following him, is the dedication and drive that is so evident in everything he does, especially in the Tae Bo workouts that he teaches, both in live classes and through videos.

High Energy Demonstrations With A Contagious Enthusiasm

While watching Billy Blanks lead one of his classes, it is clear that this man brings his heart and soul to the instruction. Billy leads the classes not only through his high energy demonstrations, but also with a contagious enthusiasm and with an attitude that can't help but motivate and inspire his students.

Billy claims that one of the reasons that people love the workouts in his Tae Bo classes is that the energetic movements and upbeat music invigorates them and motivates them to get through the routines.

Billy's classes have helped millions of people transform their physical status while enjoying a positive and fun experience. "You have to have fun," Billy emphasizes as he points out that fun is a crucial element to improving fitness.
