Storage Supplies At Work And Home

By Veronica Tripplethorn

If you are planning your annual spring cleaning or just a weekend of removing the cobwebs, then there are certain items you want to be sure to have in your cleaning and storage supplies.

One that you want to definitely include is some type of an antibacterial hand sanitizer, as this is a great product for cleaning up dirt and germs on your hands and eliminating the chance of passing them on to someone else. It’s true that you probably have a million other items already in with your supplies; however, this one is particularly important.

Purell Hand Sanitizing Gel

Having something like the Purell hand sanitizing gel or the Germ x hand sanitizer on hand will not only help with cleaning your hands to prevent the spread of germs but either product can be used to review your options to clean minor cuts and abrasions until you can get to soap and hot water to clean and disinfect properly. They are even available as wipes for added convenience in cleaning out wounds or for cleaning hands.

Most of the alcohol based sanitizers are available in several different forms, including sanitizer gel, foams, sprays and hand sanitizer wipes. While washing with soap and water does remove the dirt and reduces the number of germs, the sanitizers serve as an additional agent to kill more of the germs, which is very beneficial when you are cleaning, as you can come in contact with any number of different germs.

Keeping Infections Away

Keep in mind that no matter where you work or play, germs abound. It is a good idea to have some kind of a sanitizing gel among your storage supplies at work, as well as at home and even in the car.

The sanitizer alcohol wipes are exceptionally good for work as they can also be used to wipe down your desk, telephone, keyboard and mouse, as well as some common surfaces in the break or lunchroom. You may also want to ask your employer to install a hand sanitizer dispenser in the restroom as well, as it could be used before returning to work stations.

Cleaning Your Table Tops And Ice Chests When Outdoors

If you are planning any outdoor activities such as camping, then you will want to be sure to have an antibacterial sanitizer packed with your camping and storage supplies. The sanitizer wipes are really handy for cleaning all of those surfaces that are exposed to the elements, such as table tops and ice chests, thus helping to cut down the chance of spreading germs that way.

It is also a good idea to have some handy when you are done with activities such as hiking, boating or fishing, if soap and hot water for cleaning hands are not immediately available.

More Facts About Hand Sanitizers

Should I wash my hands or is using a hand sanitizer enough?
The general guidelines most users follow are to use soap and water if there are solid particles on your hands. If there is not, you can use a hand sanitizer. The truth of the matter is that washing your hands properly is the best choice to make when presented with both options.

But the key here is to wash your hands thoroughly and as directed by health care organizations. But if you find yourself in a situation where you do not have access to proper soap and water, hand sanitizers should be used. Having some protection is better than having nothing at all.
