Spa Treatments For A Better Skin

By Tracy Kerr-Walshe

Spa treatments, when taken out of context, can sometimes sound peculiar and disgusting. If you were to walk up to someone on the street, and not near a wellness spa, and ask them if you could wipe avocado on their face, you might get a perplexed look to say the least.

The standard spa treatments are not something we would normally engage in but when a substantial price tag is attached or listed on a "menu", suddenly it is the beauty therapy we need.

Spa treatments come in a huge variety. There are day health spas that specialize in exotic treatments for skin, hair and nails. Are you in the mood for a mashed mango, and banana facial?

Spa Treatments With Appealing Smells And Textures

There is a reason behind why those things appeal to the general public. Spa treatments that utilize appealing smells and textures will be more popular than those that do not. It does make sense; after all, that something we would ingest and know is good would also be something we would be willing to try on the outside of our bodies.

Do you want to take appealing to a whole new level? Consider chocolate spa treatments. No, you cannot eat the mixture but it does smell absolutely incredible. A head-to-toe chocolate massage will have "chocoholics" everywhere clamoring for a rub down.

Hershey, Pennsylvania has spas that specialize in this beauty therapy treatment. Why go to Hershey, Pennsylvania? It is home to the Hershey Chocolate headquarters and factory. Yummy!

Cleanse Your Skin With A Facial Peel

There are other spa treatments that work wonderfully and are becoming very popular. They may not tempt you to eat them but can be very relaxing. One treatment is a facial peel. During the treatment your skin is cleansed and then a chemical peel is applied. This peel is not dangerous and will gently remove the dead cells on the surface of your skin. A side effect may include redness.

All peppermint, mango, exotic fruit pastes aside, just trying something new and invest a new spirit in life. Think of it as a grand adventure that has the added benefit of leaving you with smooth, relaxed skin and muscles. Perhaps you’ll get that haircut you always wanted but were afraid to try.

You do not have to travel the world in search of a great health spa. Try looking close to home and then go from there.

Did You Know This About Health Spas?

What treatments do health spas offer?
There is no set list of services that all spas must offer. There are some basics that most do have in common. Massages, facials and body treatments are usually always on the list but will vary depending on the spa. Different types of massages require different training. It is important that the massage therapist is trained in each specific massage he or she offers.

Some health spas have beauticians and cosmetologists on staff to help enhance the day spa experience. Other services offered may include manicures, pedicures and even lunch. The best advice is to call the spa or see if they have a list online of the services they offer.
