Eating Smart And Enjoying Your Food

Eating smart is knowing which food is good for you, the foods to avoid and how to eat your food. While you have to eat foods that are nourishing and delicious to eat, it is also important that you are aware of the best food to eat and how to eat food more wisely.

When you are eating, your body sends signals. For example, you feel the taste and if the meal needs more salt or seasoning, then you respond to improve the meal.

In the same way, you listen to your body and take care how you eat your food by eating smart. Eating your meals slowly and stop eating before your stomach feel full. It takes a few minutes for your stomach to send a message to the brain, to stop eating.

Avoid White Bread And Sugar Loaded Cereals

You want to eat enough to give your body enough food, but you want to feel good after you have eaten. To feel better, review your options, do not overeat and end up feeling stuffed and ready to blow! Overeating is not good, and may lead to health problems.

When you feel hungry, you may be confusing a sense of hunger with thirst. Next time you think you are hungry, drink a glass of water and see if the hunger disappears. Be aware, that when you reach the point of thirst, you are dehydrated. Prevent dehydration by drinking six to eight glasses a day.

Refueling Your Body With A Healthy Breakfast

Break the fast in the morning, to refuel your body with a healthy breakfast. Eating a healthy meal in the morning helps to get your metabolism working at high gear and gain the energy you need for the rest of the day. Consume the most calories earlier in the day, so you have the rest of the day to burn them off, with physical activities.

A good option these days, is to eat small frequent meals during the day, including small main meals and snacks in between main meals, in order to balance your caloric intake and maintain your blood sugar levels.

Skipping Breakfast Is A Bad Idea

Also, having a larger healthy meal for breakfast is more important than a big lunch or supper. Skipping breakfast will not help you lose fat, so it is not a good idea to skip the important meal of the day.

Eating should not be a chore, where you eat everything quickly. You should take your time and chew your food slowly and feel the texture of food, taste, temperature and enjoy the sweet smell of freshly cooked food. You may be surprised how much better food tastes and smells when take the time to enjoy the food in your mouth.

Do Not Talk With Food In Your Mouth

Here is s tip, to avoid indigestion. If you are at a lunch or dinner with your friends, try not to talk with food in your mouth, as this will cause you to draw air and lead to indigestion. Concentrate on eating, and talk after your food has been eaten. Another tip is to drink water before a meal, or after, but not between placing mouthfuls.
