To make this fresh, light cake you’ll need 1 + 1/4 cups of plain whey protein powder, 2 tablespoons of powdered egg whites, 1 + 1/2 cups of sweetener, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, a dash of salt, 4 eggs with the yolks separated from the whites, 1 cup of sour cream, 1/4 cup of water, 1/2 cup of melted, unsalted butter, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.

Mixing The Ingredients

Beat the egg whites until they’re stiff enough to form a peak and set it aside. In a separate bowl, combine the egg yolks, sour cream, water, melted butter and vanilla. Mix well with an electric mixer. Add the dry ingredients to the egg yolk mixture, half at a time, mixing well with the mixer.

Fold in the beaten egg whites with a spatula. Pour the batter into a greased pan and bake at 325 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and firm in the middle. Add some low fat whipped cream and fresh fruit and you’ve got the perfect summer dessert.

Be Creative With Addition Of Protein To Your Cooking

Even the best whey protein isn’t a substitute for "real food," you can have the best of both worlds by adding whey protein to your meals. Add a scoop of whey protein powder to your mashed potatoes, bread mixes, and even to a cozy cup of hot chocolate.

While of course, you can make a protein shake, you don’t have to stick to drinks to get extra protein. All you have to do is be creative!
